Hello all! Since I'm in summer school (which is not fun), I am hosting a Summer Fun giveaway! I will pick a winner randomly from the comments and he/she will receive a package of all my favorite summer things! I haven't created my package yet (it will be customized based on who the winner is) but it will probably include some treats, a paperback to read at the pool/beach, and other summer necessities!
Enter the contest by answering this question: What is your favorite summer outing? The one that you must have to make summer complete? Mine is going camping- I have to go at least once every summer!
You have until Friday, July 4th at 11:59 p.m. to enter this contest. And don't forget to head over to Swistle's blog for the complete list of all the giveaways!!
Wow! I can't believe I'm the first comment! First of all, good luck with summer school! The only good thing about going in the summer is you finish sooner! :)
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I MUST do every summer is take the fam to the local Amusement/Water Park. Maybe I should say that's what the kid's want to do to make summer complete!
Thanks for this fun giveaway!!
We camp every June.
ReplyDeleteBut my FAV is attending dh's 3 day conference at the Wichita Hyatt every May or his national one in June.
Last week we were in New Orleans...at the Riverside Hilton. Left the boys in Ok with my brother & flew out of Tulsa.
Oh... I must have a HUGE 4TH of July! I try to have a party or go somewhere fun.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I hate summer school! Good luck Barb!
Am loving the chance to read all manner of fresh new blogs from this contest-a-ganza. Consider me entered!
ReplyDeletewow, barb. you are way nicer to your blog readers than I am!
ReplyDeleteI went to the farmers' market and bought squash on Saturday. That was just about the perfect way to start summer. That, and a watermelon, mmmm
ReplyDeleteFireworks sometime...for Canada Day ideally, but I'll settle for any really.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, rustic tent camping. We have a camper and it's sweet to take it camping but it kinda cheats. We've been camping twice already this summer with the tent and are going again tomorrow. Oh thats right, I should be packing.
ReplyDeleteMt favorite summer outing is actually the fireworks on 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I haven't been in a long time, but as a kid it was always camping. So, that seems like the biggest summer outing to me.
ReplyDeleteI have to go sit in the sun on the banks of a river that is near our house. It used to be relaxing... then I had kids.
ReplyDeleteThe beach at least for a day or two. If I haven't slept to the sound of the ocean it just doesn't feel like summer!
ReplyDeleteI need to spend some time at the MN State Fair. And since I live in Chicago now... it's been quite awhile since I've done that. Buuuut I'm working on it this year!
ReplyDeleteKaykaking. I just got back from 4 days on the Payette!!!
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't be summer without an outing to a fancy hotel that has a wonderful pool!!! alisonsannouncements (at) yahoo (dot) com
ReplyDeleteMy favourite summer thing this year is going to BlogHer. The beach is always a summer essential.

ReplyDeleteI am a camping junky...you know this. Don't let the fact that I'm your sister get in the way if you happen to select my name. I hope that I win!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on camping! I have to go at least once - preferably with family and/or friends. Sadly, we haven't been yet this year! Hopefully soon.

Summer is never complete without a trip to Disneyland! I've been every year since I was born (my first trip was at 6 weeks old!), but last summer we didn't have the money to make it there...very sad. This year we still can't really afford to go, but we're going anyway! When we're old are we going to remember the trips to Disneyland or paying for tuition? :) Of course, this summer is extra special because it's the first time in 5 years that my whole family is going together! Yay!
ReplyDeleteFor me, I have to go to a rodeo! It's fun to get into the cowboy spirit and watch some good ol' bull riding!!
ReplyDeleteA trip home to Charleston, SC. Sadly, this is the first year I won't be doing it. Though I suppose I COULD change my mind.
ReplyDeleteCooking on the grill makes the season sweet for me! :)
ReplyDeleteSaturday mornings at the farmer's market with my best friend
ReplyDeletea trip to victor idaho. summer just isn't summer without breathing the clean air, listening to the crickets, the stars, and a huckleberry shake. you guys want to come with us this year? the 24th!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute girl you are! Doing a contest for your readers...
ReplyDeleteMy summer is not complete if I don't get to at least one garage sale. I go with my mom. We wake up early and head out with some cash in our pocket. I love finding little treasures! One year for my birthday all I asked was to go garage sale-ing! :)
I love tubing down the river, especially if it includes swinging off a rope swing!
ReplyDeleteThe beach.
ReplyDeleteI must go up the canyon and have a campfire while I'm there I MUST make the perfect s'more. I'm impatient so my marshmallows are usually burnt to a crisp, so my perfect s'more takes lots of patience to get that perfect golden brown color for my mallow.
ReplyDeleteWe usually go to the local amusement park (Lagoon) once every summer. It's hot and sticky and too expensive, and we have a great time.
ReplyDeleteWe have been making a lot of snow cones this year.
ReplyDeleteAnd we always cook out on our firepit in the backyard.
I don't think I could live without a swimming pool nearby in the summer. I've always been a little fishy. Lounging by the pool or splashing in it is definitely my favorite summer outing (meaning out of the house, right?)
ReplyDelete:)
In the summer I must swim, eat a snow cone and go to Lake Powell. Otherwise, its no summer at all is it?
ReplyDeleteBBQ, I guess. I do love swimming, though, and I love going to the beach, when the kid(s) get bigger I want to take up camping again. I eat ice cream, but that's more a year round thing.
ReplyDeletei LOVE going camping too! camping and fishing - can't go without doing that a lot in the summer! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to get to the beach BUT I didn't get there last summer or the previous summer so I am especially excited about going for an entire week later in July!
ReplyDeleteIm double booted in my D3 waterski, gripping the ski rope that is clinging to the boat for dear life, carving my guts out as the sun rises behind me and the red canyon walls of Lake Powell echo with the engine, the smile on my face reaching both ears. No summer is complete without that...
ReplyDeleteI have to go to a crab shack to eat MD crabs...
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with finishing your degree! I just finished a degree myself and I can understand how anxious you are for it to be over.
We must go to Alabama and buy REAL fireworks.
ReplyDeleteIt's gotta be camping. smores. crickets. =o)
ReplyDeletegoing to the park with short people
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm a Hoosier I have to spend at least one night watching lightning bugs. It's intoxicating.
ReplyDeleteAt least one trip to the beach each year. We didn't last year & I still regret it!
ReplyDeleteUsually going to Maine or Nova Scotia, but we're not going to this summer. : (
ReplyDeletefavorite summer outing...i'm not sure anymore since i've entered the working world. honestly it nowdays it would be just staying home. when i was young, we didn't really go on family vacations or anything. we went to daycare while my folks worked. crap, that sounds so sucky.
ReplyDeleteThe beach! I love the beach. Also the moutains.
ReplyDeleteHang in there with summer school -- I have classes that start on Monday, and I am not super excited about it. Well, I actually kind of am, but I am trying not to sound like a TOTAL geek...
ReplyDeleteA trip to a lake - any lake - is something that I have to do every summer...the season just isn't complete without it...
I would say going to the beach but now I'm wondering just when the last time was that I went!
ReplyDeleteIt has been so long since I've been on a proper vacation. I think any vacation would be a must have!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't summer for me unless we go to Bear Lake, Idaho. It is a 20 mile long lake that is half in Utah, half in Idaho. We go to the North Shore on the Idaho side. The water is really shallow for a long way out and gets bath-water warm by the end of the summer. We always go with lots of friends and the little kids have a blast playing in the shallow water. The big kids and the adults have fun on watercraft or playing the ever popular shallow water frisbee. Bear Lake is my favorite place in the world to be! (And you can camp there too!)
ReplyDeleteWe go to a family camp every summer at the lake. It's a great getaway!
ReplyDeleteWe must go swimming at least once (usually more). And now that I have a child, we must go to the zoo at least once in the summer.
