New Hair!

I am such a girl sometimes. I can't believe that I'm going write a whole post about my hair. But here I go! You know when you just can't stand the same thing anymore?? I was at that breaking point- ready to chop my hair off or dye it purple or something, anything to get a change!! So this was the answer. After being a dark, reddish brunette for almost two years, I had an appointment today to lighten things up. Something more summery and fresh. I love how it turned out! Johnny was so cute when he saw it- he said I looked like I did when we first met and started dating!! That's a nice thing to think- a hairstyle that takes 4 years off your age! What do you think?

Before/After

Bees game with the Spencer's

We got some sweet tickets last minute to a Bees game- we were in a private box with all the hot dogs we could eat!! (Which was only about two for me... weak.) Steve, Kerry, Kerry's sister, Kristin, Mom, Dad, Sam, Lily, Sam, John and Barb. It was so fun. We watched the game through the window and the Jazz game on the TV. My kind of sports venue- free food and a warm spot to sit! Sam was wearing his Spider-Man costume just for fun which made for a cute picture when he ran into the Bee! Check out Lily's HUGE GRIN in that first picture! She is so darling!

Happy Birthday, Lily!!

Lily Isabelle is going to be one-year-old on Wednesday! We're going to be in Philly so we celebrated yesterday with a family dinner. Both her sets of grandparents were there, plus all the rest of us, to celebrate her big day!! She's so cute! And growing up so fast! John was the lucky one that got to hold Lily while she experienced her cake-- lots of frosting mess!!

Rokenbok

Oh man, is Johnny a happy boy! He bought a ton of Rokenbok a few years ago with his friend and years have lapsed with the "Rok" languishing in said friend's basement. Well, this weekend, Johnny got fed up. He harassed our friend with phone calls and text messages until today he retrieved his fun toy! I have to admit, it is a pretty cool gadget-y toy, and he's very happy setting it up. He keeps insisting he's setting it up for our nephew to play with... sure.

Matchy matchy

I was going through all my posts and I realized I never post pictures of myself. Not that you were missing those glamorous photos, anyway, but here's a cute one of me and Sam and Lily. We all happened to be matching that Sunday. I bought that little dress when we first found out that Kerry was having a girl and it's so fun to see Lily wearing it now!!

Chris Pulfer's Rap Won!

Chris Pulfer's hilarious Turbo Tax rap won the contest and $25,000!! They trimmed it down and it's since been removed from it's earlier YouTube page but you can now see it here. There's Chris' rap, "It's Just a Breeze, G!" and some audio of Vanilla Ice calling Chris to tell him he won!

My card catalog list

On to happier topics... Cute Andrea Lisonbee's blog featured this cute and vintage card catalog list that you can make online, so I made one, too. (I think Lyndsay did, too!) I'm loving the funky, imperfectness of it. Here's the link to make your own.

Bragging about my babe

John's new start up company, Comma Development, is really starting to pick up speed! I'm so proud of him for having the guts to venture out on his own! He has a partner and they do all the functionality (the back-end stuff) and they contract with different graphic designers to do the "look and feel" (front end stuff). I feel like I've learned a lot of web jargon since knowing Johnny so I'm showing it off to you.
Check out his two latest sites for some examples of his handiwork.

Kassing Andrews is an advertising firm that John works closely with.
Tyson Daniel is one of the stars of Bravo's new show Shear Genius.
The bi-annualScrapbook USA Expo is a huge scrapbooking event at the South Towne Expo Center.

COMING SOON: The official Comma Development website!

Turbo Tax Rap

Oh my gosh- this is the funniest thing I have ever seen! Turbo Tax is having a contest for the best rap posted on YouTube and Christian Pulfer has made an incredible one! (Blast from the past- Chris and John were in King Friday together back in high school!) You have to check it out- it is really well done and hilarious, too!! Check it out!

Easter Egg Hunt

Every year John's parents have a money hunt through the house for their six kids. It's grown now to include two in-law children, a fiancee and a girlfriend, so imagine 10 full grown adults scrambling and racing to pick up quarters, nickels, dimes and half-dollars. Rick and Sue love hiding them in random places, too; past spots have included tops of doorjambs, balancing on the window blinds, and hidden among the books. (These are actually photos from last year's hunt when we were counting up who won.)

This year, in addition to competing in that Easter hunt, John and I helped put on a backyard egg hunt for our niece and nephew. It was a funny juxtaposition of the two egg hunts (adults vs. kids, money vs. candy, etc.)

You may notice that Sam and Lily have two different outfits on in these pictures. We let them do the egg hunt in one outfit, then changed them into their nice Easter outfits to take some more pictures. :)

I'm going to Philly!!

I'm so excited! I'm going to visit my cute cute sister, Catherine, and her hubby, Richard, in Philadelphia in May! John and my mom are going, too and we're going to go to NYC for a few days, too! It will be such a fun vacation and so great to see Cat and Rich!! I've been there once before and it's such a neat place to visit- great history, beautiful forests and it's close to everything else! Here are some fun pics of my visit from last year. YAY!!!

Gotta love good music!

I'm so excited about this new artist, Maria Taylor! I first heard her music on Grey's Anatomy and really dug her sound. Then, today I heard that Paul Jacobsen (another fave artist who happens to be Scott's big bro) is playing a gig with her this Thursday night at 7 pm at Kilby Court! I'm psyched!!

Through the eyes of a five-year-old

John and I tended a family I used to nanny for last weekend. I used to be their nanny when they were just babies and now Lucy and Lola are 5 (and a HALF, they'll tell you) and Cooper is 3 1/2. As we were sitting on the grass chatting with their parents as we were leaving, I let Lucy and Lola take pictures with my camera. Some of them turned out pretty well! Some of them were definitely more...um, artistic. It's interesting to see what children think is a good picture (like the dog's back.) Enjoy. (And I included one taken by Shannon so you could actually see the little photographers.)
