Charlie- 27 weeks- 6 months

We had Charlie's 6 month check-up this week. He weighs 21 lbs and is 29 inches long. Dr. Bentley said he's the size of a 9 month old and is very social for his age. Charlie can now sit up and rolls over in both directions. When he wants a toy, he can scoot or roll to get it! When it was time for his immunizations, he didn't even cry for the first poke! Sadly, there were two more after that one and some big tears were shed (although not by mom this time).

Look at that double chin!

What are you looking at?

The big event of Charlie's week was starting solid food! The first attempt was a little rough- he only got about two bites down.

His next encounter went a lot better. He actually seemed to like his rice cereal and ate quite a bit! He certainly liked to "help".

Charlie helping me pay bills one day. He was entertained by that piece of paper for at least a half an hour!

Cat, Charlie and I went to Sam's soccer game to cheer him on. It was very windy and cold but we bundled up and really enjoyed ourselves. Sam was adorable- he was too busy looking over to see if we were watching him to follow the ball or the game. He was very excited to have us there. I only had my iPhone camera but Sam is the little blond one on the right (facing away from the game). :)

Charlie played with his soccer ball later in the day to get his skills up so he can play with the big kids. (He can palm that little ball- what a big guy!)

Aunt Chelsea doing double duty with the babies. They are getting to be so much fun- they are interactive and darling! Chelsea and Kate told me this cute story- Charlie and James were having a little playdate this week at Chelsea's house. Both babies were lying on the floor playing and Charlie scooted over to James and grabbed his binkie right out of his mouth and started to put it in his own! Kate and Chelsea intervened and the little binkie thief did it again! It's so funny that he is that aware and capable- he's getting so big! Sweet little James didn't even make a peep when his pacifier was swiped.

We feel so blessed to have Charlie in our lives! Thanks for reading and sharing in our joy about this little guy!

  1. He's getting so big! He's such a chub-i love it! I love that the paper entertained him for so long. I'm going have to give that one a try.
