Independence Day

We had a lovely Independence Day this year. We spent it with family and friends during the day and ended by going to be early. John and Charlie were asleep by the time I could hear fireworks going off elsewhere in the city. I missed watching fireworks this year but I know we made the right choice by not dragging Charlie out past his bedtime to be frightened by loud explosions.

We went to the annual Brighton breakfast with John's family. They've been attending it for over 20 years. It's fun to join in this tradition with them and see different friends there and show off the next generation.

That evening we joined our friends', Thom and Caroline, at their 4th fiesta. They had Red Iguana cater the dinner so John and I were in heaven. They also had a cool mariachi band which was fun and festive, but unfortunately terrified Charlie. We spent some of the party inside to avoid the loud music.

  1. Barb...

It looks like you had an incredible 4th! Ours was a little less exciting because big groups are still off limits for this little one. We would love to have you come and visit! Just email me and we can set up a time... julie.ethington@gmail.com

Charlie is growing up so fast... I can't believe that Taylor will grow so fast, because I just feel like she'll be little forever! :) It will be great to see you!
