Walk by the creek- Feb. 2013

It's funny, somehow when I envisioned the kind of family I would have one day or the mom I would be, I didn't realize that achieving those goals takes a lot of mindfulness and hard work. :) Family traditions don't just happen, it's up to the parents (and often the mom) to foster those traditions. We are still figuring a lot of those things out and sometimes we don't take every opportunity to spend quality time together. It's easy as the parents of small children to live on "survival mode" but we are trying to enjoy this stage a little more and start habits now and foster the family culture that we want to have. One day as we were out running errands, we stopped and just let the boys explore the creek near the Sugarhouse shopping center. It's since become a new little favorite outing- the boys like to look at the water, run across the bridge, find rocks and sticks, look for ducks, and it's really close to some things mom and dad like, too. ;)

It was cold and we weren't really dressed for the weather, but we just went for it! There were a few golden minutes of sunshine left and we enjoyed them .

Charlie really liked "reading" the plaques to us. I love his hand gesturing here. What a cutie.
