Camping

In July, we headed to Lake Stanley, Idaho for John's family camping trip. The drive up was harrowing (it was a loooong drive and George cried for 85% of it). Once we got there, though, it was so fun to be with our family and just relax and let the kids play. Charlie and George both loved exploring the rocks, dirt, and water, and chasing Zoe (Kate and Jeff's dog) around. Some of these photos are from our phones, but many of these I borrowed from other family members. Thanks, fam!

we used the pack and play a TON

George and Emma having lunch- the high chairs attached to the picnic table came in so handy

Baby Jude was SUCH a trouper!

Emma was newly walking and it was so cute to see her toddling around on the dirt trails

Mark, James, McKenzie and Emily- this inflatable canoe was a big highlight for the kids

George was so dirty and in heaven

The drive was not fun, but at least it was beautiful!

My contraption to keep the sun off of George's face

Our Honda Element (and the new roof carrier) were both packed to the gills- this was our last trip before buying the minivan and we felt crammed!

We all started out in our own spots in the tent, but by the time morning came, somehow Mama was on the edges without any covers and both Charlie and George were snuggled up with 10 blankets. :) They both slept so well, though, I was grateful!

And the rest of it

This little buddy was so good and he loved the beach.

It was so fun to have some time with these cute girls- we miss them

A total highlight of the trip was when Uncle Dave took all the kids on a ride around the campsite in his truck.
Even Baby George and Baby Emma loved it.
On our way home, we were stopped on the highway for about 30 minutes outside of Sun Valley. I guess there's a race  on the freeway for all the Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini owners and racing hobbyists every year. We saw a few fancy cars. :) Charlie and John took the opportunity to take a little walk down the road and I let George out of car seat jail to play in the car.

A really welcome sight after all the driving

  2. That looks like SO much fun. You should have strapped me to the top of your element so I could have come to! :) Much love!
